SPRINGFIELD, MA – On Wednesday, September 27, 2023, between the hours of 11:00 am – 11:30 pm, Executive Director Keshawn Dodds of the Boys & Girls Club Family Center will be hosting a press conference to announce a $500,000.00 grant that has been received from Early Education Out of School Time.

Dodds stated: “This was a very competitive state grant that this center has been awarded. This will help us to correct many of the different maintenance issues that we have been dealing with over the years. This also puts us in place for bigger plans in the near future.

The Family Center received an EEOST grant in the amount of $500,000.00, which will go directly towards many capital projects that need to be completed in the building. The Boys & Girls Club Family Center will be positioned to address the issues within the building that have been put off due to cost.

Reflecting on this achievement, Dodds remarked, “This is an amazing time for our Club, and we are grateful to be working with EEOST on this project.” Beyond immediate improvements, Dodds outlined an ambitious vision, stating, “Our goal is to leverage these funds to attract other funders for assistance with a major project, the details of which will be unveiled in the near future.”

The executive director’s forward-looking approach highlights the Boys & Girls Club Family Center’s commitment to sustained development and community enhancement.

As the Boys & Girls Club Family Center enters this transformative phase, Dodds expressed gratitude, saying, “We are truly blessed and in a great position to further the development of our community.”
