Springfield, MA—A new and exciting event is set to make its mark in Springfield, Massachusetts, as the city prepares to host its first-ever community-based comic book convention. The New Age of Heroes Comics Convention will take place on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the Boys & Girls Club Family Center, located at 100 Acorn Street. The convention will run from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, offering a full day of activities and opportunities for comic book enthusiasts and pop culture fans alike.

A Celebration of Diversity and Creativity The New Age of Heroes Comics Convention is not just another comic book gathering. It is a platform for showcasing a wide range of talent, particularly focusing on characters and stories that highlight Black and Brown superheroes, super-powered characters, and adventurers. This unique focus sets the convention apart, providing a space where diverse voices in the comic book industry can be celebrated and amplified.

The convention will feature a variety of attractions, including panel discussions, self-publishing and graphic arts workshops for aspiring creators, and film screenings that highlight the work of both seasoned veterans and emerging talents. Attendees will have the chance to interact with comic book authors, artists, and retailers, as well as buy, sell, and discuss a wide array of comic books, sci-fi memorabilia, action figures, and related materials.

A Champion for Independent Creators Hosted by best-selling author Keshawn Dodds, known for his Menzuo series, the New Age of Heroes Comics Convention is the flagship event of 4King Edward Enterprises, Inc. Dodds has teamed up with Cosby Media Productions and StarChild Comics to bring this event to life, with the goal of providing a platform for independent and well-known creators in the superhero universe. The convention aims to broaden the public’s understanding of the comic world and introduce new and exciting talents to the community.

Support and Community Involvement The New Age of Heroes Comics Convention has garnered significant support from local organizations, including the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts, the Springfield Cultural Council, the Boys & Girls Club Family Center, the Mass Cultural Council, and Valley Creates. Their contributions have been instrumental in bringing this event to Springfield, and the organizers express their deep gratitude for this support.
