Boston, MA – In a groundbreaking announcement, Senator Adam Gomez (D-Springfield) joined hands with the Healey-Driscoll administration to unveil a substantial financial injection of $791,694 into Springfield Technical Community College (STCC). The funding, allocated through Fair Share funds as part of the FY24 budget in line item 1596-2417, marks a critical step forward in advancing STCC’s initiatives in decarbonization, addressing deferred maintenance, and fortifying climate resilience.
Senator Gomez, a stalwart advocate for combating climate change and championing environmental justice communities, expressed his commitment to securing resources for the district and the Commonwealth. He emphasized the strategic importance of this funding, stating, “The securement of this grant for STCC falls in line with two of my legislative priorities next year that ensure the state is able to meet net zero carbon goals as set forth in the Climate Change Road Map Act of 2021.”
